Before stepping into the gym as a trainer, I spent over a decade working as a mental health counselor in the Appalachian regions of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio.

There, I saw firsthand how poor diet, chronic stress, sedentary lifestyles, and addiction wore people down—physically and emotionally. I also learned that real change doesn’t happen overnight—and it never happens in isolation. It takes support, structure, and a deep understanding of the human experience.

Why work with me?

Hi, I’m Frank Bills, the heart behind Silver Strength Wellness, based in Frankfort, Kentucky. I’m a certified personal trainer and nutritionist with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA)—but my path to fitness coaching has been anything but ordinary.

That’s why I bring more than just reps and routines to my training programs. With graduate degrees in Counseling, Anthropology, and a PhD in Sociology, I combine the science of movement with the psychology of motivation and the sociology of everyday life. My goal is to help you feel stronger, move better, and build habits that stick—especially if you’re over 50 and want to age with power and purpose.

I believe fitness isn’t about chasing youth—it’s about building resilience, confidence, and energy for the years ahead. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic stress, or just ready to feel better in your body, I’m here to help you move forward—with clarity, compassion, and a clear plan.

My Training Philosophy

Let’s face it: we’re not trying to be 25 again. We’re trying to move without groaning, carry groceries without wincing, and make it up the stairs without planning a recovery nap.

At Silver Strength Wellness, I believe fitness over 50 is about function, freedom, and feeling good in your own skin. It’s not about chasing some ideal from a magazine—it’s about building strength that serves your real life. Grandkids, garden work, golf swings, or just getting up off the floor without sounding like a haunted accordion—we train for that.

With my background in mental health and sociology, I don’t just hand you a list of exercises and say, “Good luck.” I get what you’re up against—aches, old injuries, decades of habits, and a body that might be yelling louder than it used to. My job is to listen, adapt, and guide you toward real progress. Not punishment. Not perfection. Just better movement, better energy, and a stronger you.
